The largest primate that ever lived, drawn to scale. This deep maroon engraving sets Gigantopithecus beside a human figure so the size lands: roughly ten feet tall and around 550 pounds, known almost entirely from teeth and jaws pulled out of caves in southern China. Its closest living relative is the orangutan, which adapted when the forests turned seasonal. Gigantopithecus could not, and disappeared between 295,000 and 215,000 years ago. Made from lightweight 100% ring-spun cotton with a soft, sensory-friendly feel. Every order funds kelp restoration on the Pacific Northwest coast.
