Blue belt is where you do the real time.

The honeymoon of white belt is over. The next stripe feels like it's years away, because it probably is. This is the belt practitioners spend the longest in, and the one where most people who quit jiu-jitsu actually quit. The ones who make it through don't do it because it got easier. They do it because they stopped waiting for it to.

The longest prison sentence in martial arts. Wear it like you've done the time.

Who it's for

• Blue belts deep in the grind and not pretending otherwise
• Practitioners who survived the sentence and remember every year of it
• Anyone looking for a BJJ gift for a teammate stuck in, or freshly out of, the blue belt years
